Well i know it's been a long time since the last post but we've been super busy. On New Year's Eve we hung out with my brother and ashley at their house, played a game that nobody understood but we had fun just reading outta the books anyway and had a good laugh, played some WII and watched the countdown. Ashley made some awesome food for us to eat and richard got good and drunk. I did have a glass of champagne...it was delicious. The 30th was our 2 year anniversary so we passed Decklan off to the grandparents(richard's mom and dad) for the afternoon/evening. Richard and I went and played some ice hockey at sherwood heights, just one on one. It was so fun, i haven't been there in ages...of course i won. After that we came back home and changed out of our gross clothes and went out for dinner. we went to Don Cherry's...I know, not really the place you'd go for an anniversary but it was nice, richard had never been and i had been only once. then we went to a movie. we were going to go see National Treasure but didn't make it on time so we saw Alien vs. Predator-requiem. I know, also not a very anniversary like thing but it was awesome! much better than the other one. Decklan was great for grandma and grandpa and they loved having him.
On Tuesday evening we dropped Decklan off at memere and pepere desilets house where he would spend the next three days with them. Richard and i finally got to go out snowboarding in Banff at Sunshine. it was beautiful, it's been a while since I'd seen the mountains and they get me every time. I love it there. we arrived wednesday morning and snowboarded until about 4 o'clock. we dropped our boards off to be waxed and then headed to the hotel. Charlton Cedar Court...wicked. Loft suite, king size bed, fireplace. Fantastic! We were going to buy some groceries so that we didn't have to eat out all the time but couldn't find the fridge. well Thursday night(night before we leave) we find the fridge in the TV cabinet thing behind this door...duh! why didn't we check there before?? Oh well, McDonald's is delicious. We had lot of fun, the conditions were amazing, powdery, sunny/partly cloudy and they already had tons of snow...it helps when i fall if it's nice and cushiony. richard did really well, he's much better than I but he got stuck at one point in snow to his waist. He had to surf out of the snow on his snowboard on his belly. What a sight that must have been.
We arrived back home friday evening. my parents brought decklan over as soon as possible. We missed him sooo much. He was really good for them as well. my dad was so happy to have him during the day time, watching tv together, taking naps...really is there a better life? So today is monday and Richard went back to work today. He got up fine this morning but we'll see how he is when he gets home. He wasn't looking forward to getting up at 6:10 this morning but he made it. So i guess now it's time to get on that treadmill of mine and work off all the delicious food i ate over the holidays.
