Good little man

Yesterday was Decklan's 4 month shots, i know it's a little late but richard and i had to go to banff ya know...so it was delayed. Anyways, he was such an amazing little man, such a trooper. We got him weighed and measured first. He weighs 17lbs 11.5oz and measures 25 7/8 inches. he's growing really well, so well and I'm only breastfeeding still that the nurse said i must be producing cream. Anyway, i got my shot first, apparently it's been a while since i've had a tetanus shot so i was due. I did great HA! then it was decklan's turn. he just sat on daddy's lap while the lady squeezed his leg, she put the first one in, he just kept right on chatting. she squeezes again, puts the next one in, chats a little, then looks at her like, what the hell??? what are you doing?? cries a little...smiles and keeps chatting. ok, time for the other leg. Daddy flips him to the the other leg. She squeezes, this time he looks at her and thinks i know this feeling...i don't like this idea...then poke...waits a bit, gets the same look on his face then starts crying. this one hurt a little more i think. but then the crying stops. that was it. much better than the first time. the lady who did it the first time, it was her first time to and did more of a hard poke instead of a gentle insert. so the she talked to us as we need to wait 15 min before we can leave so we chatted for a bit, she talked about solids and when we should start him and teething, since we think he may be doing so. then we're all done. He's still awake and happy.
last night I skipped richard's soccer game and stayed home in case someone was cranky. no crankiness...he had a bath and splashed away. then played in his room on the floor with some toys since he has newly discovered how to roll from back to front. ever tried changing a baby while he is on his side? it's hard...i can't wait till i try and change him as he rolls over and crawls away...i think there's going to be a naked baby in our house soon. haha.
